Robert had major heart surgery in 2012. A specialist team at harefield hospital replaced his aortic valve with a mechanical version and this ultimately extended Roberts life by another 12 years. This procedure would not have been possible without the work carried out by the British Heart Foundation. Respectfully, the family has suggested that instead of providing flowers to pay respect to Robert's life, instead a small donation to the this charity will go a long way towards supporting the work done by the BHF and hopefully extend another life.
